Coping with Stress

Now I don't know about all of you, but I personally stress about EVERYTHING!!!! I mean even the simplest of things can trigger me. If you are like me then you know how it feel when all you can think about is that thing that is causing you to stress.....it sucks. This is the reason why I have written this post. What I have written are suggestions that can hopefully help any of you that need some guidence as to how you can cope when you get stressed. These all really help me and make me feel at least a bit better, so why not give one a go and see if it works for you.

-Talk to someone about it

Whether it is with a family member, a friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, teacher or colleague, talking to someone about how you're feeling helps a lot. Often bottling up what you are feeling can make things worse. I personally turn to my mum or boyfriend when I feel stressed which always leaves me feeling calmer as they always offer advice and make me feel myself again.

-Exercise

If you are feeling stressed about an upcoming exam, handing in an assessment, work or anything in general, grab your phone/ipod, your earphones and go for a 30-60 minute walk. It's as simple as that! You will come back feeling much better and with a clearer mind. The alternative is to go for a run or to the gym which will give you the same result.

-Take time out

If you have been really busy lately and its starting the take a toll on you mentally, take time out. Do something you love! Whether thats reading, writing, going to the beach, it can be anything. Just put aside an hour and do that thing you love. I love this because often I get caught up in my studies and forget to take time out and do all the things I love to do.

-Surround yourself with friends and family

Your friends and family are people who love, care and support you. When I surround myself with them it tends to take my mind off things and that feeling of anxiety, stress or worry. Don't be afraid to turn to the ones closest to you.

I really hope this helps as I know that there is nothing worse than being stressed and not knowing what to do about it. Just remeber the feeling is only temporary and you'll get through it no matter what!

Love B xx
